CONGKO LOKAP AND KEBENG.

Gendang is a traditional houses of Manggarai. Gendang is not same with the: Tambor, Niang, Lumpung and Béndar though all of those are as houses/mbaru itself.

Tambor is a traditional house of anak wina - a youth who had taken a girl as a wife from a certain Gendang as a anak rona or a parents of his wife. All families from his wife are mentioned as a anak rona. And, all families from her husband are named as a anak wina. 

When the anak wina want to live together with theirs anak rona, anak wina will be being given a Tambor by anak rona. That's giving is as a love from their brothers or parents to their sisters. Though the anak wina has being given a Tambor included some of lingko, the anak wina is not mentioned as a lord land.

Not only as a lord land, the anak wina as a Tambor is being forbidden to make a lilik compang and sae when doing the congko lokap in front of the Gendang town square. And that case is followed by the Niang and Lumpung too. Niang is as a panga/clan. For example, Waé Rebo is a Niang. When the Niang Waé Rebo will doing the congka lokap, just doing a tudak kaba, not doing a lilik compang and sae, and that is also being done by a Lumpung.

Let we know that, Lumpung is a part of Gendang. For the Gendang in Cibal, Kajong, Ruis, and Loce, they didn't aplicated a cahir Gendang system but just devided a Gendang in Lumpung form. Each of Gendang has one and more Lumpung but depended on the head of Gendang agreements as the main of the traditional house in there to decise whether be done or not. 

Sometimes, those Gendang would make a Lumpung. It means that, that Lumpung is formed by those Gendang. For example, Lumpung Racang in Watu Baur Rural, Réok Subdistrict, Manggarai Regency is formed by the Gendang Kilit, Gendang Ketang and Gendang Ruis. They had formed a Lumpung. They had many considerations to do that.

For the Cibal, Kajong, Locé and Ruis, after built the Gendang and Lumpung, they will make a kebeng as a peak ritual. If that is a first Gendang or Lumpung, they will used the buffalo as a sacrifice animal but if they want to repair again the Gendang or Lumpung, used the pig as instead of a buffalo. That is done based on their agreement. If they have much money, buffalo as an animal sacrafice of kebeng. Therefore, kebeng as an instead of congko lokap and Lumpung is as an instead of cahir Gendang. 

In Ruteng, Ndoso, Kuwus, Macang Pacar, Rahong, Satar Mésé and throughout of East Manggarai used the congko lokap as a name peak of the ritual after built the traditional house. But, for the Kajong, Locé, Cibal and Ruis, that is named as a kebeng. 

Congko lokap is an activity to pick up all of trashes of the beam of wood. That is a symbolic language because all trashes of the traditional house were named as lowang not lokap. Lokap is all trashes of the beam (of wood) after made a house. In Ruteng, Ndoso, Kuwus, Macang Pacar, Rahong, Satar Mésé and throughout of East Manggarai, they didn't said as a congko lowang but congko lokap. Basically, lokap is all trashes of the siri bongkok - the main pole of the Mbaru Gendang. Ameanwhile, kebeng is a cleaning activity to all those trashes and collect the mat or all those goods in the traditional house.  Then, all trashes of the traditional house would be cleaned used some of animals, those are: egg, hen, buffalo and pig to clean the traditional houses from dirties.
